ETG Holding GmbH (Educational Travel Group) was established in June 2026 as the new parent company of CTS Reisen. CTS Reisen forms the platform investment of the group and is one of Germany’s leading specialist tour operators for school and group travel, with more than 50 years of market experience. The company organises over 6,500 group trips annually, serving more than 220,000 participants across 31 countries in Europe as well as the United States, making it the clear market leader in the segment of educationally oriented school trips. From the outset, ETG Holding’s objective is to build a strong group in the field of educationally oriented specialist tourism through targeted acquisitions.
The service portfolio encompasses individually tailored school trips and study tours for secondary schools (both lower and upper levels), university excursions, information and educational trips, as well as group travel for adults. With over 400 destinations, CTS Reisen offers comprehensive travel planning from a single source – from outbound and return travel and accommodation through to programme organisation with educational value. All bookings are made in accordance with German package travel law, providing schools and teachers with maximum legal planning certainty.

CTS Reisen was founded in 1974 by Ingo Dobbert in Lemgo and today employs approximately 115 staff members with long-standing company tenure and deep, destination-specific expertise.
Operational management remains with the existing managing directors, Christoph Knobloch and Oliver Dobbert, who will continue to accompany the company through an orderly transition period. Christoph Knobloch is driving the growth agenda forward – by opening up new source markets, customer segments, and destinations. Looking ahead, an expansion of the management team is also planned in order to broaden the company’s leadership base. Founder Ingo Dobbert will contribute his many years of experience to the company’s advisory board going forward.
