As a team, the founders and managing partners of Silver Investment Partners have many years of experience and extensive knowledge of the private equity industry with a focus on Germany’s Mittelstand, or small and medium-sized enterprises. All have been responsible for numerous transactions resulting in a successful development of the company acquired.

Philipp Amereller

Managing Partner at Silver Investment Partners. Philipp Amereller previously worked for eleven years at Cognetas – formerly Electra Partners Europe – an independent pan-European private equity company with a focus on the market segment of medium-sized, complex buyout transactions and with an equity capital volume of approximately EUR 2.25 billion. Among others, he shared responsibility for transactions involving Wap Reinigungssysteme, KSM Castings and – jointly with his partner at Silver Investment Partners, Mark Elborn – Oase and Azelis. Philipp has a business degree from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel with a major in finance and accounting and spent semesters abroad in La Rochelle and Berkeley. He speaks German and English. 

Mark Elborn

Managing Partner at Silver Investment Partners. Mark Elborn spent many years as a partner at Cognetas – formerly Electra Partners Europe – a buyout fund focusing on medium-sized European companies with an equity capital volume of approximately EUR 2.25 billion. At Cognetas, he was responsible for the Oase and Azelis transactions jointly with his partner at Silver Investment Partners, Philipp Amereller. Prior to this, he worked for five years at Legal & General Ventures GmbH (LGV) in Frankfurt where he was responsible for transactions such as Stinnes Reifendienst and Burkhalter. Mark began his professional career at KPMG, where he worked for nine years in Germany and in the UK. Mark has a degree in accounting and finance from Sheffield University and is a chartered accountant. He speaks German and English.

Oliver Kolbe

Managing Partner at Silver Investment Partners. Oliver Kolbe previously worked for four years for Equity Partners, a leading German private equity company with capital under management of EUR 1.1 billion, where he was responsible for direct investments with a focus on smaller and medium-sized, complex buyout transactions. Prior to this, Oliver Kolbe worked for AlpInvest Partners for five years where he primarily managed leveraged buyout transactions in the mid and large cap segment in Germany. His achievements included transactions such as Novero, Süddekor Gruppe, Zarges-Tubesca, Essmann, Henkelhausen, KSK Industrielackierungen and Aixonix. He started his career at a private equity company for small caps with a focus on growth, pre-IPO and venture capital financing. Oliver Kolbe holds an MBA from the University of Birmingham and a business degree from Pforzheim University. He also received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central England. He speaks German and English.

Christoph Dubber

Investment Director at Silver Investment Partners. Prior to joining SIP, Christoph worked as Manager at PwC in the financial due diligence department, focusing on private equity mandates. At PwC he worked across industries and on small-cap to mid & large cap transactions alike. He has a diploma in Business Administration from the Free University of Berlin. Christoph also completed various internships including at EY and Commerzbank in London. He speaks German and English.

Florian Kunkel

Investment Manager at Silver Investment Partners. Prior to joining SIP, Florian was an Investment Associate at HQ Capital where he worked on primary, secondary and co-investment transactions across the European small-cap and mid-cap buyout space. He started his career at the transaction advisory department of PwC where he focused on Private Equity. Florian holds a Master degree in Finance from Imperial College London and a Bachelor in Business Finance from Durham University. He speaks German and English.
